How much prior knowledge of mental health do I need to attend a course? 2018-02-09T05:56:22+00:00

There is no prior knowledge required to attend our courses, but an interest in mental health would be a clear advantage.

We do not do role play in our training as there really is no need for this. We do however use ‘real play’ where we can learn from our own experiences and those of the other delegates.

Our open training courses always takes place in carefully selected venues that are accessible and well equipped. We are also able to come to your offices to train or to deliver training in a place of your choice.

Apart from an increase in their knowledge, skills and confidence in mental health, delegates often feedback about how useful the training is for managing their own mental health and wellbeing.

We welcome individuals from all backgrounds on our open courses. Many of the delegates are employees though we often train parents, siblings and other family members who have enrolled themselves on to the course.

Are there any age restrictions on courses? 2018-02-09T05:51:01+00:00

Yes, delegates will need to be 16 or over to attend our courses. (The oldest person to attend one of or courses was 82).

Who provides the certificate at the end of the course and how long does it take to receive it? 2018-02-09T05:50:22+00:00

Mental Health First Aid England will issue the certificates for their courses by email. The certificates usually take four weeks to arrive.

How long are the MHFA certificates valid for and will I need to take a refresher course? 2018-02-09T05:49:44+00:00

There is currently no requirement to take a refresher course
